A government workplace balanced between authority and welcome.

Tér Design Studio developed the interior design and fit-out for this government office in Umm Al Quwain, organising a principal workspace, informal lounge and meeting room within one composed interior.

Arrival Without Formality

A visitor setting that feels composed, not imposing.

Curved seating around low dark tables creates an informal conversation zone beneath a line of framed portraits. Pale upholstery and a textured feature wall soften the timber-lined room, while concealed perimeter lighting gives the lounge depth without separating it from the office beyond.

The Executive Centre

A curved desk gives the principal workspace a measured focal point.

The dark rounded desk is set against full-height joinery, with two visitor chairs and a low table establishing a clear conversation setting. Illuminated display niches, concealed storage and a framed artwork bring order to the backdrop, while curved profiles temper the room’s formal geometry.

Meeting in Focus

A six-seat room keeps discussion visually contained.

A linear black pendant defines the meeting table against a softly backlit textured wall. Timber side panels and pale upholstered chairs repeat the palette of the adjoining office, while the integrated display supports presentations without interrupting the room’s restrained composition.

Clear Zones, Shared Language

Across the lounge, executive workspace and meeting room, warm timber joinery, graphite accents and consistent lighting hold distinct functions within one visual system. Open sightlines maintain connection, while full-height cabinetry gives privacy, storage and architectural order where each zone requires it.

Display With Depth

Storage and display share one ordered wall.

Open illuminated bays sit within full-height timber cabinetry, combining objects, books and closed storage without breaking the room’s calm vertical rhythm.

Media-Led Meeting

Technology sits within the room, not on top of it.

The presentation display is integrated into the timber wall composition, keeping meetings functional while preserving the restrained backdrop and clear table focus.

Doors Held Flush

Circulation reads as one continuous surface.

Flush timber doors align with the surrounding wall panels, allowing texture, shadow gaps and recessed ceiling light to guide the corridor without visual clutter.

Daylight at the Edge

A quieter seat is drawn toward the window.

A low cabinet and upholstered chair make use of the glazed edge while keeping the window line open, adding a small-scale setting within the wider office plan.
